Premiere: July 29 & 30, 2022 | Livestreamed to Youtube + In-Person at Studio 210
As the culmination to the Summer 2022 Residency, Studio 210 presented the projects of the two artists-in-residence:
Xochipilli Dance Company, led by Bay Area performer and choreographer Héctor Jaime, will present Codornices en Pétalos de Rosa, an investigation of love, romance and heartbreak. Codornices en Pétalos de Rosa examines vulnerability, beauty, and the magic of love through the lens of people of color. (Photos 1 & 2)
Surabhi Bharadwaj, a seasoned dancer, choreographer, and teacher who holds an MFA in Bharatanatyam, will present The Maze, a dance exploration of mind and body navigating the inner constraints and societal complexities that we all are constantly negotiating. Linking personal barriers to hegemonic ideals, The Maze hopes to untangle the webs that confine us. (Photos 3 & 4)
